The Jewel Tones make their Chicago debut with their new Musical endeavor, "A Sentimental Journey" at Davenport's Piano Bar, 1383 N Milwaukee Ave in Chicago. This unique look at music through the ages gives an entertaining look at the historic moments in music and more from the 1920s to present day with the serenade of female close harmonies. Joining the Jewel Tones is Jeff nominated CSPS singer Michael Joseph Mitchell as the guide to help paint the picture of the times. From famous pop chart toppers to Musical Theater favorites, this is a Sentimental Journey. Written and directed by Janice Pantazelos with Jeff Richards on piano. CSPS is proud to announce that dramatic soprano, Michele Woods will be singing with South Shore Opera "From Mozart to Joplin: An Evening at the Opera with fully staged scenes from Rigoletto, Carmen, Le Nozze di Figaro, Treemonisha and more" Michele will be singing Tosca's Vissi D'arte and other ensemble performances. CSPS singer, Lisa McClowry performs with Jim Peterik, Thomas Linsk, and a host of musicians, friends and talent from Chicago for "We are the Cure", the campaign for breast cancer awareness with the Avon Foundation. Garden Chalet in Worth,IL will host the "We Are the Cure" party and live music event Aprill 11 Sunday 2PM - 6 PM raising awareness and money for The Avon Foundation.

Singer/Songwriter Lisa McClowry will be performing Original Music from her highly anticipated CD, plus Love Songs and Jazz Standards in celebration of Valentine's Day, featuring Jeff Lantz (piano), Mike Aquino (guitar), Jeff Handley (percussion) and special guest appearance by Jim Peterik (Grammy awarding winning singer/songwriter). she will be at the beautiful Saugatuck Center for the Arts, 400 Culver St, in Saugatuck, MI on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 8pm

Gary native Wanda C. Scott performed the role of Serena for Fleetwood-Jourdain's version of Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" in Evanston, Ill.

Mezzo soprano Laura Boguslavsky, member of the CSPS faculty, just completed performing the role of "Mercedes" in Carmen with Chamber Opera Chicago.

Davis and Philbrook

CSPS singers Melanie Davis and Lela Philbrook gave a "joint" recital at Indian Boundary recital hall. They each performed Italian, English and German art songs and arias which were enthusiastically received by the full house audience. Congratulations to both of them. This was part of their 3rd year requirements as aspiring professional singers for CSPS.

Ceremonial Wedding singer Leslie Haas was the guest performer for the Chicago Wedding Gala held at the Civic Opera House.

Akilia McCain

CSPS soprano Akilia McCain performed in "The 3 Sopranos" and guests held at the congregation of Park Manor, 7000 Martin Luther King Drive accompanied by George Tenegal.

Regina Webster

The Chinese Fine Arts Society presented a musical concert "Journey Through the Silk Road from the Eyes of the Great Wall" at Sherwood Conservatory. CSPS mezzo-soprano Regina Webster was the featured vocalist, singing "On the Way," trio for mezzo-soprano, piano & cello composed by Victoria Bond.

On Saturday, February 24, 2007 CSPS singers: Joe Freer, John Kladis, Stuart Bard, Lela Philbrook, Megan Simmons, Cecilia Anderson and Lindy Thomas performed "Croonin for Coolies," benefit concert at the Oak Brook Renaissance for blood diseases: Coolies Anemia and Thalassemia, presented by the Ahepa foundation. The program included favorite songs from the original "Rat Pack," Tony Bennett, and the Andrews Sisters.
