Opera Idol 2012
What: a vocal competition for young, aspiring opera singers.
Where: North Shore Retirement Hotel, 1611 Chicago Avenue in Evanston
Dates to Remember:
Jan 29: All general audition tapes are due to The North Shore Hotel
Feb 4: Qualified participants are notified and will be assigned a preliminary round competition date
Feb 21, 29 & Mar 8: Preliminary Rounds held, all at 7:30pm. Winners proceeding to the finals are announced at conclusion of each Preliminary Round.
Mar 3: Junior Division audition tapes are due at The North Shore Hotel
Mar 21 & 22: Junior Division Competition
Mar 30: Final round begins at 7pm. Grand Prize Winner is announced. Final round is conducted in a combination competition and Master Class format with Maestro Sherrill Milnes directing.

Levi Kreis returns to Chicago from his Tony Award winning performance on Broadway at the Apollo Theatre on November 1, 2010 at 7:30. "Where I Belong" features another CSPS Singer Jason Antone.
Levi is currently promoting his new album in California
Congratulations to CSPS singers Samantha Farmilant and Lela Philbrook in winning roles at International Lyric Academy in Rome for their Summer Opera Training Program!

The National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award (NATSAA) Competition for Singers is known nationally as one of the most prestigious awards for classical vocalists, with over $50,000 in cash and prizes. NATSAA registration opened online at www.natsaa.org, where more information about the competition is available for download.
